Picture this.

You are at home, curled up in your favorite chair, a soft blanket wrapped around you.

Soothing music is playing softly in the background.

And, maybe for the first time ever, you feel truly ~ deeply ~ relaxed.

In this picture, you might just be experiencing the gentle power of Reiki.

Reiki is an energy that comes through the practitioner, not from the practitioner, surrounding you + filling you with love + light.

When it comes to Reiki, sometimes language gets in the way.

I’ve been practicing Reiki for almost seven years now, and I still can’t explain it.

The best I can offer is this: Reiki is like a deep pool of stillness from which droplets of awareness & insight & healing begin to ripple outward.

Put another way, Reiki is like a nap on steroids.

Paradoxical, I know.

What do I mean by that? It’s a deeper + more potent nap. A nap during which you might not nap at all.

A Reiki session is your time to relax – whatever that looks like for you.

You might curl up in a comfy chair or on the couch. You might lie on your bed. You might sit cross-legged on a cushion. You might move through some of your favorite yoga poses.

You might meditate or journal or doodle or paint or daydream.

It’s your time. The magic is happening below the surface.

How will you know it’s working?

The thing I have learned about Reiki is that it helps wherever and however it is most needed. Each experience is as unique as the individual.

That being said, you will feel different after your session: more calm, more grounded. It might be subtle, but it will be there.

Here are some things my clients have noticed.

  • a sense of relaxation and well-being
  • shifts or changes in the intensity of pain
  • changes in mood or energy level
  • insights or epiphanies

I like to think of Reiki as a pause button.

When you pause, you create space.

When you slow down, when you pay attention, when you listen, you create space for something to happen.

If you are interested in Reiki, I want you to know that I am here.

I can help you relax in the safety + comfort of your own home.

You don’t have to meet a strange person. You don’t have to drive somewhere. You don’t have to find parking.

You can even wear your pajamas! I’ll probably be wearing mine.

And while the energy is coming through me, not from me, there is something magical about knowing that somewhere in the world, someone else’s attention + loving energy is 100% focused on you and your well-being.

Want to hear what people are saying?

“It felt like it was unlocking that part of me that actually could relax .. a door to a room I didn’t know was there.”

“I got into such an amazing zone of relaxation – not asleep but very close.”

“My breathing got so quiet that it turned into what I call breathing from the inside .. just total joy.”

And yes, there are more.

Is your heart whispering yes to this?

If it is, and the time is right, I would be honored to serve you in this way.

What’s included?

How does Reiki work in theory?

Truthfully, I have no idea.

I was taught that Reiki is energy that is guided by a higher power and that it works by flowing through the energy field and healing any disruptions in the life force energy.

I suppose that may or may not be true.

How does Reiki work in practice?

In person, a Reiki treatment resembles a massage, only you get to keep your clothes on and, instead of massaging you, the practitioner will rest their hands on or above certain parts of your body.

Because Reiki is energy, you don’t need to be in the same room as the practitioner. I don’t know how everyone else does distant work, but I sit in meditation and imagine that you’re there and that I’m doing a session for you.

No, really. How does Reiki work?

I wish I knew.

I’m still confused about how this works. Am I on the phone with you?

There is no phone involved. You are in your own space, doing your own thing. At the same time, I am in my own space, sending Reiki to you. It’s a type of energy, so you don’t have to be in the presence of the practitioner for it to work.

If you’re a Reiki person, you must have some stories about your experiences.

I do. Here is one of them.

The boring part of the page:

A Reiki session is not a substitute for medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose conditions, prescribe or perform medical treatment, or interfere with the treatment of licensed medical professionals.
