   If you wish to be “truly deeply completely safe & adored”, get a dog. As you know, they love unconditionally, all day, every day, no matter what.

   the love of a dog. spot on jerry!

   i just finished jan karon’s last novel.
   it was set again in mitford.
   a wonderful title…
   ‘somewhere safe. with somebody good’

   my favorite poem of your own elizabeth is the one with the needs of a dog …
   and wishing exactly those needs for us… beginning with
   “may you have fresh water to drink.”
   and after other things so necessary …
   ending with
   “may you have someone who will kiss you on the nose and love you. just the way you are.”
   i love that poem. it says it all.
   and with your own beautiful simplicity!
